Another target is Amazon.com (AMZN) which has apparently stopped hosting? WikiLeaks from its Web servers. Its stock, which is up 30% this year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], was down 1% or so this morning.

Mastercard’s consumer web site went down temporarily and the stock dropped to $246.18 intra-day and closed at $250. The stock has nearly recovered all of the ground it lost and a slew of analysts have rated the stock a BUY or outperform.?
As I have said in previous posts the smartest investors I know use market “dislocations” as opportunities to buy or sell stocks that have exagerated stock price movements due to the chaos.
These kind of small but rapid swings are hard for long term investors to capitalize on but for active traders they are a dream come true. Visa is also an analyst favorite and has strong long term growth prospects.
Mastercard International (MA)-? The stock closed on Monday at $253.60 and peaked at $255.66 on Tuesday.? That was the day it announced it would cut off? WikiLeaks from its payment processing system. Then Wednesday morning? news broke that WikiLeak’s hacker army was bombarding the site with requests.
Thirteen percent is a pretty good gain in little over a week’s time.? However consider these other companies who are now being targeted by WikiLeaks supporters:

Ebay (EBAY)’s Paypal unit has also been named as a target of WikiLeak’s fans. Year-to-date Ebay’s stock is up 26% but yesterday its stock has recently traded down briefly.
Randy McDuff , the Oracle of Manitoba,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who has an 18.6% decade-long average annual return – notes that it is one of his biggest holdings. The company pays a dividend,? has 49% operating margins,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], low debt and a 43% return on equity.
Is Amazon A Good Hacker Trade?
Visa (V) – Visa got hit by WikiLeak’s hacker army yesterday for the same reasons Mastercard did. Stock? fell from 78.31 to 76.81 intraday. Stock has rebounded to $78.41 today.
For those holding stocks of companies that come under WikiThreat I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
Just over a week ago I pointed out that the smart money including at least one of the Warren Buffetts Next Door was bullish on? Bank of America’s stock (BAC) which at its current price of 12.35 is now up nearly 13% since the stories began flying that it was? the likely target of a WikiLeaks confidential document outing.
If you are a day or swing? trader I would consider signing up for a feed of the WikiLeak hacker targets at @op_payback,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the new twitter handle for the hacker movement. Also #payback and #wikileaks.
